The curved shape actually holds my spoon without it sliding into the pot, which was my main problem before. It's heavier than it looks too, so it doesn't scoot around the counter when I stir. Sitting next to the stove it just looks nice.
Didn't expect to care about a spoon rest, but the curved shape actually holds my ladle without it sliding off, and it catches drips way better than the flat one I had before. The clay has a nice weight to it too, doesn't scoot around the counter when I set a wet spoon down.
The stone grey glaze on this spoon rest is even prettier in person, and it's got enough weight that it doesn't slide around when I set a drippy ladle on it. Curved shape catches every last drop, so my stovetop stays way cleaner than it used to.
